3 Tips to Schedule Medical School Interviews While Living Abroad

The Cracking Med School Admissions team members were actually living abroad while applying for medical school. We know it can be tricky – and expensive – to fly back and forth to the United States for medical school interviews.

Scheduling Interviews Tip #1: If you haven’t done so already, inform the admissions office that you are abroad. This will help when you schedule your medical school interviews.

Scheduling Interviews Tip #2: Try to schedule medical school interviews around the same date. Did the admissions office give you preferred dates to schedule medical school interviews? Be proactive. Don’t be shy to ask them to change available dates around your travel plans. From our experiences, medical schools are very understanding and flexible. Remember, they offered you a medical school interview slot because they are interested in YOU.

Scheduling Interviews Tip #3: Most of our friends usually come back to the US two times during the medical school interview season. Typically, they will schedule medical school interviews in the fall, winter break, and February. Plan family gatherings and trips to visit friends along with your interview trail!
