Medical School Secondary Essay Editing

No other consultants: From minute one, you are working directly with Dr. Rachel Rizal and Dr. Rishi Mediratta. We put a lot of heart and dedication into each person’s application. We do not pair you up with other advisers and consultants.

No word limits and character limits: Almost every other medical school advising service will have word and character counts for what counts as “1 school secondary.” We do not believe in that. Please read our “no word limits, really” FAQ response for details about why we have this philosophy.

Passion: Mentoring and advising is a high priority for us, because we love it so much. We are actively engaged in the community and give talks about “how to get into medical school” at undergraduate universities, premed organizations, and postbacc programs across the United States. In light of COVID-19, we gave more virtual talks so that we can be available to as many premeds as possible.

Lifelong mentorship: Because we view our advising as a lifelong mentorship, we keep in touch with many of our students throughout their medical careers. We want the skills we teach you during the medical school application cycle to be applied to your medical school career, residency, and future jobs. Several of our mentees have joined us in residencies at Harvard and Stanford hospitals.

Our goal is to give you thorough feedback for each medical school secondary application in 2 days.  Going through the medical school application process ourselves, we understand the necessity for quick turnaround times. We want to stress that we never compromise quality over efficiency.  Our edits will be extremely thorough and you will receive edits for each essay prompt for each medical school application we edit.

When we are first learning more about you or for longer medical school secondary applications (4 or more essays), we may take up to 4 days. We re-read your secondary essays multiple times and do multiple rounds of comments. Again, we highly value quality edits.

First, we will give you resources, including medical school secondary essay examples, to help put you in the right direction. Second, the most effective we’ve been able to help students with brainstorming their essays is through google docs and brainstorm word documents. We will help you in this manner too!

An important way to learn about “what makes a great med school secondary essay” is to read examples. With each package, we will give you an example of our Cracking Med School Admissions book, and you will receive medical school secondary essay examples. We will also provide you with several high-yield resources about medical school secondaries through our blog posts, unlimited emails with Dr. Rizal & Mediratta, and office hours. 

If you need help with a specific essay prompt within a school’s medical school secondary application, then we can help you brainstorm “what’s the best activity to write about” for that specific prompt. We’re experienced at showcasing people’s unique talents and strategizing the specific experiences that will put your best foot forward for each medical school. Remember, medical schools have different cultures, and so we will incorporate these insights into your medical school secondary application.
